#14 Paco Morales
Joe began his racing career in 1982. Driving Stock cars at Lakeside Speedway, he also drove Pure Stocks and Limited Sportsman before becoming interested in the Modified division. In 1992, Joe started driving Supermodifieds with the Englewood Racing Association.
He was named 1992 Rookie of the Year with experience, and finished in the top ten in year end points that year. Never finishing out of the top ten in year end points, Joe has accumulated numerous A-heat and B-heat wins as well as quick times. Joe also has 2 main event wins to his credit. Plagued with motor problems at the beginning of the 1999-2000 season, Joe came on strong with 2 quick times,1 A-heat win,2 main event wins, and never finished out of the top 4 in main events that season. Joe finished 3rd in year end points for 1999-2000 season.
The 2000-2001 season proved to be a test of endurance for Joe. After a crash most drivers would not have come back from, the team put Joe's demolished car back together for the next race date, where Joe showed what he was made of, qualifying 3rd and winning the trophy dash. Joe finished 8th in year end points for the 2000-2001 season. Admittedly, Joe is not happy with this finish and plans on making a run for the championship in 2002.
Update: 2002 wasn't as good of a year as Joe had hoped for. A bad crash at the start of the season didn't help. Then with a new car that had a multitude of problems. But, Joe overcame those problems and made a late charge toward the end of the season with quick time at I-25 Speedway (Beacon Hill Speedway).
